Call to Action: Huckleberry Flats OHV Expansion

Riders! We have a great chance to help improve an already great riding area, Huckleberry Flats, on the Willamette National Forest outside of Oakridge, Oregon. All you have to do is follow the link, then enter your information and a short message, near the bottom.

Here’s what’s on the table: A plan has been completed to significantly expand the staging and camping areas, and to add MORE SINGLE TRACK TRAIL. The great land manager and the outstanding volunteers that make the magic happen at Huckleberry Flats need your supportive comments to pour in, in order to close the deal.

In your comments, please say you strongly support the construction project alternative and oppose the “do nothing” alternative. Also, in another paragraph, add that you support the Forest Plan changes needed to allow this expansion. Add whatever personal, family, OHV-positive stories you want, or none at all, but please get these minimum messages submitted by May 22nd!

You know how important it is that we support great OHV management and our rider volunteers when they need us, so we know we can count on you to chip in, and to spread the word.

Use the comment option, below, that’s easiest for you, and thank you, in advance, for helping our sport!

Electronic comments will only be accepted through the Forest Service online comment system, available at https://cara.ecosystem-management.org/Public/CommentInput…

Written comments can be mailed to the following address: Molly Juillerat c/o Kevin Rowell, Middle Fork Ranger District, 46375 Highway 58, Westfir, Oregon 97492.

Oral comments may be phoned into Kevin Rowell (Recreation Specialist) at 541-782-5305
